Why the EQS 12V battery fails here

On replacing the 12 V battery, Mercedes-Benz says: “Only have the battery replaced at a qualified specialist workshop, e.g. at an authorized Mercedes-Benz Center.”
When the 12V battery is disconnected or discharged, Mercedes-Benz lists what happens. “The drive system cannot be started.” “The electric parking brake cannot be released or applied.” A dead 12V keeps the selector lever from moving, which means the EQS has to be transported with its wheels off the ground.
Mercedes-Benz also says: “Mercedes-Benz recommends transporting your vehicle in the case of a breakdown, rather than towing it away.” A disconnected or discharged 12 V battery is one of the conditions under which only transport is permitted.
That is the parking-lot reality. A flat 12V EQS cannot be rolled. It cannot be put in neutral. You need a qualified operator who can transport the car.
