The Tesla map over Kirkland is red, every stall is taken, and your range is already in the teens. You are in Totem Lake traffic or downtown Kirkland, not on an empty rural charger. Sitting in that queue burns both time and battery, so the next move is a live check in the Tesla app, then a real choice: wait, roll to another public option, or request a mobile charge at the lot.

Why Kirkland stalls fill on a weekday

Kirkland sits on the Eastside between Bellevue and Redmond. I-405 cuts through Totem Lake. The SR 520 approach pulls Seattle-bound traffic across Lake Washington. Those two corridors, plus downtown Kirkland errands, dump Teslas onto the same Supercharger map at the same hours.

Washington DOL EV population data, file updated 2026-09-15, lists 8,487 registered EVs in Kirkland. King County has 144,257 registered EVs. Of those, 63,017 are Teslas, about 44 percent. Statewide, Tesla is 122,981 of 299,705 registered EVs, about 41 percent. That is the fleet sitting in Eastside lots on a Tuesday.

A lot of those cars charge at home. Puget Sound Energy serves most of the Eastside, including Kirkland, and names two residential programs, Up & Go Electric and the Flex EV rate. Home charging is the overnight plan. The cars in a Kirkland Supercharger queue are the ones that skipped it, cut it short, or burned range on a wet, cold commute.

Winter range loss is real here. Recurrent Auto, looking across 30-plus EV models, found EVs keep on average 78 percent of range at 32F, about a 22 percent loss. AAA testing at 20F found temperature alone cut range 10 to 12 percent, and cabin climate control pushed the loss toward 40 percent. A Kirkland weekday in the 30s does that work quietly. You notice it when the Supercharger map turns red and you still have to get over 405.

Campus lots add a second pulse. Google’s Kirkland campus and other Eastside office lots fill with EVs that left home with a thin buffer. Those drivers often treat a Tesla Supercharger in Kirkland as the midday top-up. When a site is queued, they are competing with through traffic off the 405 ramps, not just neighborhood cars.

This page will not publish a Supercharger street address, stall count, or hours for Kirkland. Tesla moves those, and a stale figure is worse than none. The Tesla app is the live source for tesla supercharger kirkland wa sites. If the map shows a kirkland supercharger full, believe the map, then decide whether waiting still gets you home.

If the site is not just queued but offline, the problem is different. A down charger on the Eastside freeway is its own mess, and our note on a Tesla Supercharger down on I-405 covers that corridor. A queued lot in Kirkland is still a working site with no open stall. Treat those as two different calls. Downtown Bellevue and Factoria are a separate queue: Bellevue Supercharger is queued.

What the Tesla app will and will not do

Open the Tesla app before you leave the stall you are in, and before you idle in a queue lane. The in-car nav and the phone app show live stall status, site availability, and the Supercharger rate Tesla is posting right now. That rate is Tesla’s. Charge Pro SEA does not set it, and this page will not invent a dollar figure for 15 minutes on a Tesla Supercharger. If you need the current price, it is on the screen in front of you.

The app will tell you whether a Kirkland site has open stalls, how many look occupied, and whether a nearby Tesla Supercharger has a shorter wait. It will also show whether a site is listed as unavailable. Use that. Do not crowd-source an address from memory.

The app will not hold a stall for you. It will not move the cars already plugged in. It will not pay an idle fee for someone else. Tesla Supercharger cables are short on purpose, so you have to be fully in the stall to plug in. You cannot charge from the next row, and you cannot share a cable with the car beside you.

The app also will not send a mobile charger. Tesla Roadside is a separate request inside Tesla’s own channels, with Tesla’s own coverage rules. Charge Pro SEA is not Tesla. We match you with a licensed, independent local operator. The operator quotes you, does the work, and bills you directly.

If you are already in the queue with a low pack, watch the range number, not the wait animation. A 15 to 30 minute Level 2 connection adds roughly 10 to 20 miles. That is the size of a typical rescue charge, not an arrival time. Supercharging is faster when a stall opens. Mobile Level 2 is slower, and it is the option that comes to the lot when no stall will.

Keep the car in a legal parking stall while you decide. Kirkland’s curb and lot rules were not confirmed for this page, so read the signs on that lot. Do not sit in a Supercharger stall you are not using. Do not stop on an I-405 ramp to wait. If you are disabled on a state highway, dial 911. The WSDOT Incident Response Team patrols major corridors, including during peak hours, and WSDOT tells drivers to call 911 for help on the roadway. WSDOT’s published IRT materials talk about motorists who have run out of gas. They do not mention electric vehicles or charging.

Nearby public options vs a mobile charge

A queued Tesla Supercharger in Kirkland does not mean the Eastside has no other plugs. It means the fast Tesla stalls you wanted are full. Your next public option is whatever the Tesla app, and your car’s charge map, show as open right now. Do not drive toward a remembered Costco, grocery, or garage stall unless the live map still lists it.

Can you charge a Tesla at Costco. Some Costco sites in other cities host chargers. No Costco Supercharger, stall count, or hours for Kirkland could be confirmed. Treat Costco as unconfirmed here. If a Costco or other private lot appears in the Tesla app with an open plug, use the app. If it does not, do not spend remaining range hunting it.

Public Level 2 is a different tool. Level 2 AC charging runs 240V residential, or 208V commercial, in a published 2.9 to 19.2 kW band. Connectors are SAE J1772, plus J3400 (NACS) for Tesla vehicles. A J1772 or CCS adapter is the ordinary way a non-Tesla EV takes AC Level 2 from a NACS source. The U.S. Department of Energy keeps the station-level primer on electric vehicles. A Level 2 post at a Kirkland garage or campus lot can add range while you work. It will not replace a Supercharger session if you are already in the teens and still have to cross 405 or 520.

SR 520 across Lake Washington is tolled. Burning the last miles to “one more charger” on the Seattle side is a bad trade if the Kirkland site is only queued, not dead. Stay in Kirkland if the remaining range is tight. Totem Lake, downtown Kirkland, and the 405 ramps are close to each other on a map and far apart when you are at 8 percent.

A mobile charge is the option that does not need an open public stall. Charge Pro SEA connects Kirkland drivers with local operators who bring mobile EV charging to the car. The published rescue equipment is a Tesla Cybertruck with an integrated 240V / 9.6 kW bed outlet, a NACS plug, and a CCS adapter. That is the same power level as a typical home wall connector. Roughly 30 miles of range per hour is a derived figure from 9.6 kW against typical EV efficiency, so treat it as about, not a guarantee. A 15 to 30 minute connection adds roughly 10 to 20 miles. That is often enough to get off the lot, through Totem Lake, and home to a wall connector.

Mobile Level 2 loses to an open Supercharger on speed. It wins when the kirkland supercharger full status is not changing, when you cannot legally wait in the queue, or when your pack will not survive a hop to the next mapped site. The operator prices the work and bills you. The brand sets no price and promises no arrival window.

If the 12V is the real problem, charging the main pack will not wake the car. A matched operator can jump a dead 12V on site, load-test it, and replace a failed 12V (AGM lead-acid or lithium, per model year) after quoting both options. Tesla’s own manuals also say a Tesla cannot be used to jump start another vehicle.

How to request a local operator from the lot

Stay with the car if you can do it legally. Put the Tesla in Park in a marked stall that is not a Supercharger bay, unless you are actively charging. Note the nearest cross street you can actually see, Totem Lake versus downtown Kirkland, and whether you are on the 405 side or the 520 side. Vague “I’m at the Kirkland Supercharger” is a weak pin when more than one Eastside site is busy.

Then call Charge Pro SEA. We are a referral service for the Puget Sound region. We match you with a licensed, independent local operator for Tesla roadside rescue. We do not own the Supercharger network, a truck, or a charger. We do not send a crew. The operator you are matched with quotes the job, does the work, and bills you directly.

Tell the operator three things. One, you are queued or blocked at a Tesla Supercharger in Kirkland, and the Tesla app still shows the site full or unavailable. Two, the remaining range, in miles, from the car, not from memory. Three, whether the car still drives. If it drives, a short mobile charge at the lot may be enough. If it does not, say so up front. A no-drive Tesla is a different recovery than a low-pack car that can still creep into a stall.

Do not ask the brand for an ETA. No one here publishes one. Do not ask for a waived fee or a free look. Those are not offers we make. Ask the operator for the quote before work starts.

If you are still on a Supercharger stall with the session ended, move when you can. Tesla’s idle rules live in the car and the app. This page will not invent an idle-fee number. If you cannot move because the pack is too low, that is the moment to request the mobile charge instead of waiting for a courtesy tow rumor.

Kirkland parking enforcement hours, private-lot towing rules, and posted time limits were not confirmed for this page. Read the signs. Chapter 46.55 RCW governs towing and impound in Washington, including private-property impounds. If a lot is already calling a tow, say that on the phone so the operator is not quoting a charge for a car that is about to be hooked.

For a wider Kirkland roadside picture, including 12V no-start and out-of-charge calls off the Supercharger map, see EV roadside assistance in Kirkland. Washington’s registered EV counts by city are on the Washington DOL open data portal. Use those files when you want the fleet numbers. Use the Tesla app when you want the stall in front of you.

When to call us
